mojo monday

I love this sketch for mojomonday, I had a look at their blog for the first time and loved all the design teams cards. Mary Fish has made a gorgeous wedding card that I think is stunning. I am sure I will use this sketch over and over again. I wanted to use my new glitters from su tonight but I think it will be a job for the weekend when I have more time. Instead I used some metalic papers Poppy-palmetto and Poppy string bikini and the floweer already had a glittery edge so I am satisfied for now. Time for me to go to bed. Goodnight.

Cards just for fun!!

Well this is a post that is just for fun or should I say just for kids. My daughter is having a birthday soon and shelikes Spongebob Squarepants so I made this card for her. A very simple card but she is going to love it, I like his dangling legs made from ribbon. A girl at work asked me today if I would be able to make a dump truck card for a two year old and I said I'd try. This is what I came up with, to me it looks like a truck but not quite sure if people think the same way I do. If your reading this post please let me know if you could tell it was a dump truck before you read it. Well I'm off to try another challenge and hopefully use some of my new stampin up products, very exciting!!!

A sporting chance

This is my entry fot Cute Card Thursday (I don't mean the football players).

I have made a simple easy card for this challenge. I have made a card in the Gold Coast Titans colours to represent their jersey. My children and husband knew straight away it was a Titans card before they knew it was a sport challenge and before I put the emblem on but it wouldn't be noticed by someone who didn't live here. The Titans are the Gold Coasts' NRL (rugby League) team. This is a very simple card but one that will come in.handy for a boys birthday. Have a look at the great cards made by the team at

Baby Girl Card

THe colour challenge at colour create this week is lemon, pink sorbet and chocolate

One of our mothers had a baby girl yesterday she called her Gigi and I gave the only baby girl card I had made so I thought I better replace it. If you can remember me saying there are alot of babies coming our way. I have followed the sketch from sketch Saturday here it is at http://sketchsaturday.blogspot.com/. I have used wild about you stamp and short and sweet from stampin up and their pink pirouette card, not quite sure where the lemon card came from it was in my stash. Wishing you a great day, I better go and get everyone out of bed.

Pirate Treasure for Under the Sea

Ahoy there mateys! For Magnolia Down Under- Under the sea, I have created pirate treasure. After attempting to do a pirate ship card but it just wasn't working for me and given that I was set on a pirate theme, pirate treasure was all I could think of. This is a tri fold card which opens vertical instead of horizontal. THe keyhole is attached to one side with a velcro dot. Cardstock is close to cocoa and creamy caramel from stampin up. I had fun trying to make this card but now I think my shaped card bug has left me. Hope you enjoy playing along at http://www.kelliewinnell.com.au/magnolia/?p=580

inkspirations - take 2

Firstly I must apologise to anybody who is reading this post and realises I had a different entry here this morning. I took my last entry off the blog because the more I looked at it the more I disliked it. I tried to put do a double challenge on the last one and it didn't work for me, it was too crowded. Anyway I recycled my butterfly and flowers and came up with this one which I do like alot better. I have used Stampin Up eastern blooms and garden whimsy stamps. Kiwi kiss and pink passion card. This is a very bright and cheery challenge why not try it at http://www.makeeshabyl.com.au/

Let's get into shape. Wedding and Birthday Card

I have created a castle card for this challenge, I watched Enchanted with my girls and it made me want to create something Princessy. Originally I had the idea of the castle for a girls birthday card but as I was creating it turned into a wedding card. My daughters are going to be flowergirls next Saturday for their Uncle Dans wedding so this card is going to be from them. I know they will love it coming from the girls but not quite sure if we can put our names on too. That is OK though because I bought some gorgeous wedding paper today.

My second card is a circus tent I have made for my nephew who will be two on Friday. We will be having a party with him Friday after school because they are staying on the coast for the weekend to attend the wedding. I was only going to use animal stamps on this one but the Magnolia image reminded me of Malachai (birthday boy) with his curly hair and huge chubby cheeks. Here it is ...
I hope you enjoy this challenge, I have caught a shape bug and although challenging and time consuming it brings alot of fun and satisfaction IF it works out. Check out the fabulous creations at

My first Shaped Card- What alot of fun!!!!

Wow! This was the most fun I have ever had creating a card and I love it. It may not be perfect but it is my favourite card I've made so far. The challenge at Cardvarks is Shape Up take a look at http://caardvarks.blogspot.com/2009/05/shape-up.html. The creations there are fantastic! After cleaning up my ribbons and sorting my new ones into colour groups, I wanted to use my choc chip ribbon which I got from the lovely Madonna Dunn-Stampin Up extroadinaire http://www.madonnadunn.com.au/. I was inspired by Pamela's ice cream cone and Laurens cupcake and I wanted to create a cupcake card. I have used cardstock choc chip and pink passion, and some buttons I bought from Spotlight. It is the first time I have used buttons and I am happy with the result they give. I hope you enjoy this challenge as much fun as I have. I have just finished watching the Disney movie Enchanted with my daughters and I'm in the mood for creating something magical. Hopefully I will be able to come up with something tomorrow.

Flutter By Butterfly at Magnolia Down Under

Flutter by Butterfly is the Magnolia Down Under Challenge this week. Take a look at http://www.kelliewinnell.com.au/magnolia/ . I have used colours old olive, this colour wouldn't usually make me think butterflies until I looked for something different in the artbox and found these ones from a scrapbooking set my daughter got for Christmas. My first attempt the stamp didn't stand out enough as I only had her on pink card but I liked the background, so I had another play and added old olive and close to cocoa behind image. I am satisfied with the outcome. I just got an email today from bizzy becs telling me she posted my new Magnolia stamp and I am eagerly waiting to play. Until than I am going to practise some more colour blending.

Colour Create Sky Blue Tan Ecru

Colour create colour challenge this week is sky blue, tan and ocre. I wasn't going to enter this challenge because I didn't think I could put these colours together but then I got inspired by the teams designs and their great combinations. Have a look for yourself at
http://colourcreatechallenge.blogspot.com/ . I have created another baby card using these colours as I've said previously we are expecting alot of babies around us soon. I have used stampin up card baja breeze (which isn't a colour I'm very into yet, it's seems a bit too washed out to me) and close to cocoa. Stamps are wild about you. I'll be off to bed as soon as I've posted this and had a quick look at my fav blogs.

Sketch Saturday

I woke up early this morning to the sound of pouring rain so I couldn't go out and exercise (what a shame. lol) Instead I decided to create a card for sketch saturday. This is my first time using the Ahoy Matey stamps from stampin up, which my kind friend Alicia let me borrow. It is a fun stamp set to use. I have used pacific point cardstock and background papers school memories. Speaking of school I better get off the computer and get myself and my kids ready for school. It's going to be a wet day and that means the kids won't get to run around and play. Aaaaaagggghhhhh! Just the thought of it. If you would like to try This sketch the link is http://sketchsaturday.blogspot.com/ . I have just ordered my scallop punch and can not wait to get it so I can add the beautiful scalloped edges to my creations.

Cute Card Thursday Challenge 60

Here is my boy card to match my girl one today, even it out just to be ready. I am using this card for Cute Card Thursday Challenge letters and numbers http://cutecardthursday.blogspot.com/2009/05/challenge-60-letters-and-numbers.html
I am really quite pleased with this card as all I started with was the plan to use B O Y and didn't know where to go from there as it took up alot of the card. I decided to use to use pacific point card as I was having a picnic by the broadwater today and this colour reminded me of the ocean. THe backing paper reads continuously Oh Boy and I'e used Wild about YOu stamps from Stampin UP aswell as their pacific point ink. Well now I need to clean up my art table and try to stay away from it for the rest of the day.

Just Magnolia Sketch

I have made a baby card for Just Magnolia's sketch challenge this week, I think this image is adorable. There are quite a few babies coming along soon at work. We have two pregnant ladies, one who is expecting twins and also one dad to be very soon. I also have two prep parents expecting soon and each time I see one of them I think she won't even make it back to the car park without going into labour. My sister in law is also expecting but she is having a boy so I will make her a card a little later. I have used pink passion cardstock as my card and some cute baby papers that my daughter had in her art box which reads A daughter to love. I really hope someone has a girl! Have a look at all the beautiful cards the ladies have made at

WOF friendship Challenge

The challenge is friendship at the http://wojmondaychallenge.blogspot.com/. It's nice to make a friendship card and send it for no reason other than to let someone know your thinking of them.
In this card I have used stamp Maid Charlotte - whiff of JOy, Stamped backgroung with mini messages - Stampin Up (this stamp repeats words my friend) I have stamped in inkorchid opulence and summer sun - Stampin Up and have used cardstock orchid opulence and summer sun. I now have to go and get ready to go to my friends stampin up launch today for some more creative ideas.

Animal Antics - Papertake Weekly

This weeks challenge is Animal stamping at Papertake Weekly, this was a fun card to make.I have used stamps Wild about you - Stampin Up, Cardstock green galore, tempting turquoise and summer sun - Stampin Up. The water from the elephants mouth is quilled paper but it is hard to tell as I scan my cards into computer. This also seems to take alot of the bright colour out of the pictures I post aswell. The girls have done some wonderful creations at

Magnolia Down Under- Thinking Of You

My Magnolia Down Under Challenge - Thinking of You. I have stayed on a purple and pink theme,( not sure though if I should have done a brighter pink for the card) and kept it very basic. I'm lucky enough to have a great friend who shared some stamped images with me and I have used my stampin up punch to make some bright flowers. Have a look at the fantastic work at the girls at Magnolia Down Under.

Blue and Green Challenge

It is blue and green for the challenge at colour create this week and I have enjoyed working with these two colours. I did a stamp swap for a few days with my friend Lucinda and hooray I have Stampin Up Seaside which I am sure I am going to buy next time. I have used
not quite navy for the card and gable green and tempting turquoise card. This card will be for my friend Marnie who I am always thinking of but don't see as much as I would like to.

Just Magnolia Challenge-Stitches

This is my stitches challenge for Just Magnolia this week, I have used the colour purple which is inspired by the colour of my tender bruises after my first surfing lesson. I should really stop whinging it was heaps of fun and worth all the soreness. I have created a Christmas card using perfect plum and olive green cardstock from Stampin Up. This is the first time I have tried hand stitching on a card and I think I will do it more often because I like the effect. You can see Just Magnolias fabulous creations or join the challenge at http://justmagnolia.blogspot.com/2009/05/week-4-in-stitches.html

Card Patterns Sketch 14

This is my card for card petterns challenge #14. I was inspired to use the beautiful bold bright colours, tempting turquoise and yo yo yellow after staying in a beautiful resort by the beach all weekend. We had so much family fun, according to my children the best weekend they have ever had. We were treated with a fab family 80's themed disco which we had to bring out the fluoros for (lucky that wasn't my colour inspiration for this card) and also a night time function at Dreamworld theme park. But the most fun of the weekend was definately the surfing lesson. It was alot trickier than I thought but awesome fun trying. My next card might have to be purple inspired by the bruises I have from this lesson.
I don't know why I decided on making a baby card, maybe because I had no seashells ones, lol. these are stampin up Short & Sweet.
Have a fun Mothers Day!!!!

Check this out at http://www.postpals.co.uk/I have used very basic designs because I desperately wanted to get on board this challenge but have very limited time as we are going away for the weekend. Caardvarks Don't Quote Me Challenge

Wow what a fun challenge at http://caardvarks.blogspot.com/. A quote or verse to appear on your card. My first card is a DR. Suess saying of which I am a big fan."Today was Good, Today was Fun, Tomorrow is another one."

My second card has a quote from Bo Jackson "Set your goals high and don't stop till you get there." I have used Stampin Up Wild About You stamps, which I think would go great with a Dr Suess theme. I have cut the quotes from Bella Paper- Blackboard.

My third creation for this challenge is a diary I made for a super friend and work mate Carol. She is an animal lover especially when it comes to her dogs. THe verse at the bottom of this diary is "How much is that doggy in the window." I loved doing this challenge and I hope you will try it too. http://caardvarks.blogspot.com/

Just Magnolia A sketch for you

Have you ever tried to make a card and whatever you tried didn't work? Well this challenge started like that for me after tearing bits and pieces off and punching holes in all the wrong spots I threw it away and started again. This is my second attempt on this sketch and
I decided to post it quickly before I started changing bits again. I'd love to know what you think.
I have used Tilda along with stampin up set garden whimsy. The girls at Just Magnolia have done an excellent job with their creations, Check them out at

I now have to go and put icing on my chocolate cakes after being tempted by the delicious picture at Colour Create.

Mirror Mirror

Well, I thought this was a very appropriate challenge Mirror Mirror as I've been clothes shopping today and I'm sure it would of been easier without the mirrors. For this challenge I have recycled part of a beautiful gift bag I was given a present in. It is hard to tell in the photo but it is a thin plastic with clear leaves covered in silver glitter. I then found ribbon which matched with a silver glittery edging. I used the words Congratulations(from Stampin Up Congrats) because the present given in the bag was for that. The card stock colour is Perfect Plum from Stampin Up. Take a look at the challenge at http://cutecardthursday.blogspot.com/2009/04/challenge-58-mirror-mirror.html. Enjoy your long weekend.

Card Patterns sketch 13

Here is my creation for Card patterns Sketch 13. I enjoyed creating this card tonight as it relaxed me after spending the day trying on every piece of swimwear in every surf shop on the Gold Coast ( and trust me there is alot of them) only to find there is no miracle suit available that is going to make me look fabulous. THis is the reason for the bright colours to cheer me up.
I have used Animal Crackers stamps from Stampin Up aswell as their designer series papers.
Check out the terific creations for this sketch challenge at http://cardpatterns.blogspot.com/2009/05/cp-sketch-13.html.
