Colour Create

Thank God It's Friday!!!.

What a slow week this has been, I've been trying to stop myself getting sick this week. I've been getting all sorts of niggling syptoms of a cold but I am determined not to get sick. I love working with little children but it is hard to stay well during the colder months when they are all getting colds. Any way enough about that. I have entered Colour Create's challenge this week PInk, Orange and Green, some great colours to brighten anyboby's day. I have used a funky fairy digi image and I think they are adorable. I have used SU bold bright card stock and papers. This was a fun card to make and I love the colour combo they have given us. Hope you enjoy it too.

Friday Sketches and Creative card crew

I have been very spoilt and I am very lucky to have such terrific friends. I have made this card using Stampin Up SEaside Sketches which is a set I have been trying to get ever since I saw it, I haven't been able to, so my terrific friends got from America for my birthday. I love them!!! This stamp here reminds me of my two girls, when we visit my mum and dad at Agnes Waters they are always playing in the sand dunes, so I thought it would be appropriate for Creative Card CRew challenge Girls Just wanna have Fun. I have also followed the sketch from Friday Sketches, it is a good sketch and it is so much easier to follow a lay out.

Happy Thursday to all, Amanda

Card Patterns

Good Morning, Hooray I finally woke up early enough to go to the gym. This has been a very hard task this winter, I am usually so irritated that I wake up so early all the time but the last month I have not been able to wake up and get out of bed before 6.30am this being too late for anything except getting everybody ready. This is my take on Card Patterns sketch. I love this image of Lola and have been using her in reds, pinks and black but I decided to try her in blue being my daughters favourite colour and I like the wat it turned out. I have added glitter to her dress which is hard to tell in photo, I also tried different colour and patterned papers but decided I liked it better less complicated. I have to go rush off now, need to buy stop and buy some thank you chocolates on the way to work. Have a play at Card Patterns and have a fantastic day. Amanda

The most gorgeous baby boy ever!!!!

Cardvarks have got the most amazing creations I have seen over on their blog challenge for babies and weddings, they are awesome. I have entered this challenge today, not because I have made the most incredible or unique card but because I needed to make a new baby card for the most adorable , cutest baby boy ever. Did I mention he was my nephew? I have just been to Brisbane hospital to give him cuddles he is soooo cute. He was born yesterday at 2.15am and he is just so yummy. His name is Caleb, he hasn't been given a middle name yet so I was trying different ways to make Amanda sound masculine. We took his big brother, Malachai (2) to the hospital courtyard to play and there were all these tiny beautiful newborn babies there to see, I wish I could bring them all home with me. Congratulations to Matt and Kelli who now have the two most adorable boys.
After our visit we went on to a family fun day in the park organised for Jana, Jana is Kelli's(mentioned above) sister, she has MS and some of the local businesses in Brisbane organised a fundraiser for her, it seemed to be very successful. Now I'm off to relax and try to make a card ot two, but not before I jump over to my friends blog to tell her how great her most recent card looks and to thank her for my beautiful birthday card.
Wishing you a lazy Sunday afternoon, Amanda

Colour Throwdown and Mojo Monday

A very quick post this morning as I really need to be at work early today because our Preppies are on assembly prayer. They have all been pratising so well and they are going to be adorable.

I have created this card for colour throwdown, it is the first time I have entered their challenge and I thought the colour combo was very interesting, Certainly celery, Choc chip and perfect plum. Lucky I had all three colours from SU and could play along. Iused choc chip and celery SU markers and a little close to cocoa, and also SU choc chip ribbon. My image is from Doodle Palace. I have played along with MOjo Monday, I really like their sketch this week.

Hope you have a fabulous Friday, I know I will, Amanda

Three Times A Lady

Well I have tried to combine two challenges with this card. I have gone with Three Times a Lady for stampin for the weekend which I automatically thought of using these Lola digi images from pink petticoat for this challenge. My fabulous friend Tracy from WA has been exercising madly and has lost alot of weight so I thought I'd make her this card to let her know what a champion she is. I have followed the sketch from Crafts 4 Eternity except I had to go with a straight line after my attempt to copy the shape. Go and see the fantastic creations at both of these blogs and have an attempt yourself.

MOjo MOnday Sketch 95

A sketch for Mojo MOnday, I loved this sketch it was easy to work with. I was going to make a male card but these papers from SU just kept coming back to me, and it seems to take me for ever to come up with a male design. Anyway I like these colours together they are from SU but the paper is retired. THe stamps are a hostess set and the card is sage shadow. I have also used this sketch for my winter wonderland christmas challenge but will have to post seperately tonight as I have to get myself and my girls ready for school.

Hot Hot Hot

At last, I have a card to post, it has been a very quiet week for the crafting table. I have made a card following Craft 4 Eternity sketch which I liked this sketch alot. They also wanted you to use hot colours red, orange, yellow and gold. This was a fun card to make using a stamped Bella image that was kindly given to me. We are back at school now and are doing a unit on water and the sea so this beachy image goes along with that. I might have to do a pirate tonight. We had a fun first day back with the children and dressed as pirates and built a pirate ship for them to play and create in for the term. They are all very excited and it will be nice to be back in some sort of routine as it was very easy to get slothy on these last two weeks of Winter holidays. Enjoy your Wednesday.

magnolia down under

Well I haven't entered a Magnolia challenge for a while now because I just wasn't happy with my colouring technique, but yesterday after having a play and colouring with some friends I realised I enjoyed it so much it didn't matter if it wasn't perfect. I love blog hopping and looking at all the magnolia creations out there, they are beautiful. Magnolia Down Under has a great sketch by Kellie so I thought it would be good to have another try. I have used all stampin up papers and card. Hope you all had a terrific Wednesday.

mojo monday

After a full fun day of crafting and getting together with the girls yesterday, I still had enough crafting left in me to create one more card last night. I have followed Mojo Monday sketch 94 I picked up this stamp at ebay her name is surfing millie, the side of the stamp says she was made in by Fern Gully stamps in Australia, so I might google them after this post. It was our first full day of rain yesterday for these school holidays which is really good considering we are in the middle of winter and this morning isn't looking too promising out there, so maybe it will be another inside card making day. Whatever you are doing today, I hope you enjoy.

Christmas of the past

It's an olden day Christmas card for Winter Wonderland . This was a very different challenge for a Christmas card, I wasn't sure this card would work with the brown embossed holly, I thought it might be too drab for a Christmas card. It certainly isn't for everybody but the more I look at it IRL I love it and I'm going to make more to give to people. It is just one of those times when I think that is exactly the look I want for certain people but I wonder how many more challenges I'll do before Christmas and say that. I am still loving this challenge blog it is so much fun, the girls cards are awesome every week. My attempt on crackers didn't work out last week but it was fantastic to look the other creations. Happy Mondayu.

Stampin for the weekend Sketch 1 and 2

I could not decide which sketch to follow at Stampin for the weekend so I did one of each. I have used my new digi images of Penelope (if you read my last post I used with this image it reminds me of my daughter's crazy hair) I love these images, I am going to put a photo of Lyss with this post showing you her crazy curls. I liked both these sketches although I am not fortunate enough to have any nestabilities yet and it is quite hard to cut a circle so I distressed the edges to cover up my less than perfect circles. WE are off to have a picnic and hang out at the duck park for the rest of the day with Katie, Jordan, Lilly and Zac. I love it when we get to catch up with everybody we haven't seen for a while on school holidays. Have a great day.

Colour Create

Another gorgeous colour challenge from colour create. Apple green, sunflower yellow, lemon and white. I started making this card on Friday. I was thinking of creating this card for a friend at work who had very sad news that day. I had only used yellow on the card not thinking of any challenges just of the person I was making it for and I put it away that night. When I looked at it the next day I thought the colour wasn't really appropriate for a sympathy card so I put ot aside. Later I saw this challenge and added a little bit more to join in. I have used SU stamp fifth avenue, this is my first time using this stamp, I have seen some great cards out there using these stamps. Cardstock and papers are also SU. Well I'm off to bed now.

Sketch Saturday

Hello, I printed off the sketch for Sketch Saturday last night to make a card today but forgot it was supposed to have a fourth of July theme to it so I created another in red, white and blue. My first card I made was made with my daughter in mind. I saw this digi stamp of Penelope and it reminded me of my Allyssa with her curly, crazy hair so I had to get it. She will be known in our house as Lyssy Woo Woo not Penelope. I have used all SU card and papers. My second card has an image of Ruby on it, again I had to buy this, I get called Ruby by some friends at work because it is my middle name. This was a fun sketch to do, hope you enjoy it too. Happy Fourth of July to anyone from America.

crafts4eternity sketch

THe first week of school holidays is over it has gone so fast, we have been so lucky to have a week of beautiful sunshine in the middle of Winter. WEll today I finished the week with quite a lazy day with only a short time at the park with the my girls and our dog I had some time for a couple of challenges. This sketch is at Craft for eternity. I have used digi image Marissa and all SU papers and card. I did a bit of digi stamp colouring in today now I just have to match them to a sketch and card. Hope you all had a wonderful Sunday, I'm going to go and rug up before I do my next post. I also have a new ice cream I must try it is called goody goody gumdrops and has gummy lollies mixed through it. mmmmmmm

A stitch in time

THis is my Cute Card Thursday Challenge A stitch in time. This is only the second time I have used my sewing machine on a card after failing big time the first time. It put me off for a while but practice makes perfect so I'll have to use it a little more. I have used the sketch from last week on Fridays sketches because I liked it and it showed off these great papers I bought off Lucinda which were from a SU mini catalogue last year. The stamp is also from SU summer by the sea, which I love this set. I have made two cards almost the same and wasn't sure which to post because I asked my family and Chels and I liked the green flower one better, where Ant and Lyss liked the pink flower more. Let me know what you think.

papertake weekly sketch

this is my card for Papertake weekly, they have a great sketch, again one of my favourites because it's not too complicated for me. I have made this card for Will who is going to be 40 next weekend. I bought this paper from craft cupboard with him in mind. He is from a family of mechanics and they all like their cars. The cardstock is SU brilliant blue which I have a thing for at the moment so most likely to see a few more cards in this colour. Have a look at the girls cards at papertake and try out Dawns sketch.
